#2, ANTIQUE 1911 LIVERPOOL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS ELECTRIC MINIATURE DEMONSTRATION

#2, ANTIQUE 1911 LIVERPOOL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS ELECTRIC MINIATURE DEMONSTRATION

ASTONISHING, ANTIQUE HISTORICAL MUSEUM PIECE. THE ONLY ONE KNOWN IN EXISTENCE.HISTORY NOTES THAT CAME WITH THIS ELECTRIC LIVERPOOL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS HISTORICAL DISPLAY PIECE ARE INCLUDED:   THIS AMAZING ANTIQUE DISPLAY TRAM WAS MADE BY THE, BRUSH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED, BUT THIS COMPANY NAME, BACK IN 1911, WAS THE ANGLO-AMERICAN BRUSH ELECTRIC LIGHT CORPORATION IN LAMBETH, LONDON TO EXPLOIT INVENTIONS OF CHARLES FRANCIS BRUSH. THE NAME CHANGE TO THE BRUSH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED HAPPENED IN THE YEAR 1957.BY 1911 THE ANGLO-AMERICAN BRUSH COMPANY LTD. HAD ALREADY MOVED FROM LAMBETH TO LOUGHBOROUGH BECAUSE OF GROWTH AND NEED OF MORE ROOM CAUSED BY INCREASE IN ORDERS. WHICH ALSO PRODUCED WAR PLANES AND EQUIPMENT, MUNITIONS, BESIDES THE ELECTRIC, DYNAMOS, MOTORS, SWITCHGEAR AND SMALL TRANSFORMERS. I BELIEVE THEY ARE STILL A LARGE COMPANY UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME AND IN BUSINESS IN THE UK TODAY.PRIOR OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR, TRAMCARS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING WERE THE MAINSTAYS OF THIS ANGLO-AMERICAN BRUSH COMPANIES PRODUCTION.IN 1911 THIS DISPLAY AND TRAM WAS ORIGINALLY PRODUCED BY ANGLO-AMERICAN BRUSH ELECTRIC LIGHT CORPORATION AS A DEMONSTRATION FOR THE TRAMWAYS COMPANY.THIS WAS A COMPANY BUILT MINIATURE REPRESENTATION OF THE LIVERPOOL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS TRAM, WHICH WAS TO RUN A 11 MILE ROUTE BETWEEN LIVERPOOL AND KIRBY, UK.IN 1912, IT WAS NOT NEEDED ANYMORE BY THE BRUSH COMPANY AND WAS SOLD TO A LIVERPOOL TOY STORE, WHY I SAY POSSIBLY A FRED W. WOOLWORTH & CO. STORE, WHICH STARTED IN LIVERPOOL IN 1909 ON CHURCH STREET, WHICH SOLD TOYS, I AM ASSUMING THAT BECAUSE FRED M. KIRBY WAS A MAIN CHARACTER THAT MERGED WITH F. W. WOOLWORTH COMPANY STORE, HIS DEALINGS AND EXPANSION INTO STARTING THE WOOLWORTH STORES IN THE UK. AND WHEN THEY OPENED THE NEW STORE IN 1909, A FEW YEARS LATER, THEY MAY HAVE HEARD OF THIS (KIRBY) LIVERPOOL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS TRAM DISPLAY FOR SALE BY AN AD OR AUCTION OR OTHER MEANS, AND BECAUSE IT HAD THE NAME KIRBY ON IT, THEY WOULD FIGURE IT WOULD BE SOMETHING NEAT TO HAVE FOR THE NEWER STORE TO DISPLAY, AS THAT FRED M. KIRBY HAD A LOT TO DO WITH IT . BUT, MAY HAVE BEEN SOME DIFFERENT TOY STORE, BUT JUST POSSIBLE, AS TIMES, PLACES, AND OTHER FACTORS LINE UP, JUST A EDUCATED HUNCH.....SO THAT BEING SAID, OVER A 100 YEARS AGO, IT WAS PLACED IN THE LIVERPOOL TOY STORE WINDOW, IT DROVE OR ROAD BACK AND FORTH ON THE RAILS ON THIS DISPLAY BOARD, DELIGHTING CHILDREN PASSING BY, AND ENTICING THEM AND THERE PARENTS TO ENTER AND BROWSE AROUND AT THE TOYS FOR SALE AND OTHER MERCHANDISE.IT WAS ACQUIRED BY A YOUNG MAN IN THE 1930'S WHO MOVED TO AUSTRALIA IN THE 1950'S, BRINGING IT WITH HIM.UPON HIS DEATH IN THE 1980'S, THE TRAM WAS PASSED TO HIS SON WHO HAD STORED IT IN HIS ATTIC.THEN ANOTHER AUSTRALIAN PERSON MUST HAVE HEARD WIND ABOUT IT BACK SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER 2013, AND PURCHASED IT, AND THEN PLACED IT UP TO BE AUCTIONED OFF.THEN THAT IS WHEN I PURCHASED IT, IN NOVEMBER 2013, AND HAD THIS PHENOMENAL HISTORICAL TOY PRESENTATION PIECE SENT FROM AUSTRALIA TO THE UNITED STATES. AND I AM NOW CURRENTLY THE OWNER.THIS TRAM PRESENTATION TRAIN HAS A METAL UNDER CARRIAGE OR TRUCK THAT I HAVE SEARCHED INTO, WHAT IT SEEMS IS THAT THE BRUSH COMPANY USED A FRAME FROM W. J. BASSETT-LOWKE, BASSETT LOWKE COMPANY TRAINS OR FROM STEFAN BING, BING COMPANY TRAINS, SINCE BASSETT LOWKE WAS IMPORTING BING TRAINS AROUND THIS TIME PERIOD OF 1911. BUT POSSIBLY IT ALSO COULD HAVE BEEN MARKLIN, BUT I AM LEANING TOWARDS BING OR BASSETT LOWKE.  THE REST SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SCRATCHED BUILT FROM FRAME UP BY ANGLO-AMERICAN BRUSH ELECTRIC LIGHT CORPORATION, ELECTRIC MOTOR AND DRIVE SYSTEM, TIN, WOOD AND ALL.  HIGHEST OF HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANCE OF THESE MAJOR TRANSPORT TRAM COMPANIES AND BRUSH ELECTRIC COMPANIES AND MANY OTHER ASSOCIATED LARGE COMPANIES AND IMPORTANT PEOPLE, TIMES, AND PLACES.1. NOW ABOUT THIS ANTIQUE PRESENTATION ANTIQUE DISPLAY:  THE 1911 LIVERPOOL CORPORATION TRAMWAYS TRAM IS COMPLETELY ALL ORIGINAL, PAINT AND WOOD  ALL.2. IT HAS A METAL UNDER CARRIAGE AND METAL RAIL WHEELS, O GAUGE SIZE SYSTEM.3. THE METAL WHEELS ARE DRIVEN BY A WORM SCREW AND WORM GEAR SYSTEM.4. THERE IS AN ANTIQUE ELECTRIC MOTOR THAT POWERS THE TRAM.5. THE ELECTRICITY IS  CONDUCTED THROUGH THE TOP ROOF POLE CONNECTING WITH THE OVERHEAD POWER LINE AND THROUGH THE STEEL WHEELS BELOW.6. THE ELECTRICITY IS PROVIDE BY A TRANSFORMER.7. THE DISPLAY BOARD, TRACK AND WIRING, ALSO THE ABOVE GROUND POWER LINE AND POLES ARE ALL COMPLETELY ORIGINAL.THERE WAS NO TRANSFORMER.NOW ABOUT THE ANTIQUE EARLY 1900 TRANSFORMER AND THE 1900 STREET LAMPS.WHILE I WAS IN WISCONSIN 4 YEARS BACK, I WENT TO A FARM AUCTION AND NOTICED THIS EARLY 1900 TRANSFORMER LOOKING BLACK BOX, I ASK THE OWNER IF HE NEW ANYTHING ABOUT IT, WELL HE DID NOT KNOW MUCH, AND THAT IT WAS SITTING UP IN THE BARN ON SOME BEAMS SINCE HE PURCHASED THE FARM BACK IN THE 1960'S, HE DID LET ME KNOW THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNERS WHERE FROM THE UK THOUGH, SO THAT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME, SO I PURCHASED IT, I NEW IT WOULD THE PERFECT TIME ERA ADDITION FOR THE POWER TRANSFORMER. WHEN I TRIED IT OUT WITH ELECTRICITY, NOTHING HAPPENED, SO I HAD AN ELECTRICIAN TAKE IT APART, SAID IT MAY BE A SAFETY HAZARD, SO I HAD HIM DISCONNECT THE OLD INNER WIRING, BUT LEAVE THE ORIGINAL PARTS INSIDE,  AND REWIRE IT SO THAT YOU CAN RUN ANY AC CURRENT TRANSFORMER TO IT,  AND HAVE CORRECT CURRENT COMING OUT AND LIGHT UP THE LIGHT BULBS ON THIS ANTIQUE EARLY 1900 TRANSFORMER, AND IF SO DESIRE, TO POWER THIS INCREDIBLE HISTORICAL PIECE. ALL ORIGINAL PARTS INSIDE ARE STILL INTACT. SO THERE IS AN INPUT - AND A OUTPUT, AND THE 12 VOLT BULBS LIGHT UP AND DIM DOWN BY A NEWER SAFE TRANSFORMER. (AS SHOWN IN PHOTOS). BUT DOES COME WITH TWO GOOD EDISON STYLE EARLY 1900 LIGHT BULBS, BUT THESE WILL NOT LIGHT UP, THEY ARE JUST FOR ANTIQUE  TRANSFORMER DISPLAY PURPOSES.NOTE: I HAVE NEVER TESTED THE TRAM,  ONLY THE ANTIQUE TRANSFORMED TRANSFORMER AND THE STREET LAMPS, BUT, I AM SURE THIS ANTIQUE TRAM WILL RUN, AS EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE. IT MAY NEED A LITTLE LUBE, BUT I WILL LEAVE THIS UP TO THE PURCHASER / NEW OWNER. BECAUSE OF ITS INCREDIBLE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE, I'M SURE THIS WILL BE MORE LIKELY ON DISPLAY.THE DISPLAY BOARD OR MORE LIKE AN ANTIQUE SHELF BOARD IS WHAT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN, FROM 1911, HAD 4 SCREW HOLES, ONE SCREW HOLE ON EACH CORNER, IT LOOKED AS THOUGH SOMETHING WAS THERE AT ONE TIME OR WHERE THEY ATTACHED OR MOUNTED THE DISPLAY, NOT SURE, SO I MOUNTED THESE BEAUTIFUL EARLY ORIGINAL 1900'S ELECTRIC TOY LAMP POSTS ON THESE HOLES IN THE CORNERS TO LIGHT UP THE DISPLAY.DIMENSIONS: DISPLAY BOARD WITH TRACK AND LINE 45" INCHES LONG X 6 INCHES WIDE X 1 INCH THICK , TRACK IS O GAUGE / SCALE SIZE TWO RAIL.DIMENSIONS: THE TRAM IS 14 1/2" INCHES LONG X 8 INCHES TALL X 3 INCHES WIDE. THIS IS WITHOUT THE ROOF ELECTRICAL LINE PICKUP, THIS PIECE ACTUALLY GETS ITS POWER FROM THE OVERHEAD POWER LINE LIKE THE REAL ANTIQUE LIVERPOOL TRAMS.NOTE: O GAUGE / SCALE TWO RAIL.RARITY: ONLY ONE KNOWN IN EXISTENSE.PLEASE CALL FOR ANYMORE DETAILS, LEAVE A MESSAGE IF KNOW ANSWER, I WILL RETURN YOUR CALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. 727-403-6030.
